In this highly visible role, the Executive Learning and Performance Consultant will consult with Segment and Field leaders to develop and execute learning and performance solutions to drive key business priorities to achieve measurable results. This role will report to the Director, Sales Practices and Training.

This role will require approximately 25% - 30% overnight travel.

Business Consulting & Execution

  • Develop a deep understanding ofbusiness strategies, goals and performance improvement opportunities anddevelop and deliver strategies and solutions to fill performance gaps

  • Become a trusted partner who ispositioned to address key business challenges and opportunities

Performance & Learning Consulting & Execution

  • Consult with business partnersand subject matter experts to develop performance & learning objectivesthat meet business objectives

  • Recommend the most appropriateperformance or learning approach to address the stated objectives weighingresource and expense against business impact

  • Design, develop and deliverperformance & learning solutions that transfer knowledge, build skill andinfluence the behavioral change required to drive key business initiative.

  • Facilitate learning creating adynamic and engaging environment using relevant and current examples allowingthe learner to easily apply knowledge and skill to on-the-job application.

  • Develop and executereinforcement tactics and strategies that drive the desired skill and change inbehavior.

  • Execute effective monitoringand evaluation plans that help to identify the impact of programs onperformance.

Project Management

  • Follow established projectmanagement processes to ensure projects meet established performance &learning objectives and timeframes.

  • Ensure there is ongoingcommunication with teammates and segment and field partners throughout thelength of the engagement and proactively address issues.

Sales Practices Consulting & Execution

  • Consults with the business todevelop sales practices and processes to drive performance and behavioralchanges needed to successfully execute key initiatives and strategies whichwill drive success

  • Interact and consult with keyfield on how to improve day-to-day coaching, management and leadershipeffectiveness within their organizations

  • Consistently monitorestablished metrics, proactively identify trends and work with field leaders todevelop and execute performance solutions that will address deficiencies toimprove sales performance

Leadership

  • Be an informal leader on theteam.

  • Provide coaching and mentoringsupport to others. Develop the abilityof others to perform and contribute to the organization by providing on-goingfeedback and by providing opportunities to learn through formal and informalmethods.

  • Encourage creative tension anddifference of opinions. Manage andresolve conflicts and disagreements in a constructive manner.

  • Persuade others; buildsconsensus through give and take, gain cooperation from others to obtaininformation and accomplish goals.

Qualifications:

  • Seven plus sales or sales management experience working with independent agents and brokers

  • Small commercial experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with The Hartford's small commercial sales organization highly desired

  • Deep business acumen

  • Strong territory & agency management, selling andnegotiation skills

  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills

  • Strong ability to motivate and persuade others

  • Strong ability to impart information in a clear andconcise manner

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong informal or formal leadership skills with a demonstratedability to coach, mentor and develop underwriters

  • Demonstrated influencing skills with an ability to workeffectively with all levels of leadership and individual styles

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiplepriorities

  • Ability to work in a fast-changing, matrixed environment,leads change

  • Experience in the design and delivery of various learningmethodologies a plus
