What does a Claims job entail? As an Senior Claim Representative, you will:

Manage Claim Files

  • Plan, recommend, reserve, and execute file strategies on assigned claims in a manner consistent with corporate claim policies and procedures, and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.

  • Handle high volume of claims which includes initial file intake, project and execute accurate and timely payments, investigate mitigation opportunities on the file including subrogation, manage file to timely resolution, and complete all data integrity components.

Provide Exceptional Customer Service

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, gaining their trust and respect. Demonstrate diplomacy and tact to effectively avoid or diffuse high-tension situations.

  • Always demonstrate professionalism and establish credibility when interacting with customers; personally enhance The Hartford's reputation in the marketplace.

  • Clearly explain technical information that is helpful to customers.

Utilize Business Acumen and Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrate knowledge of all relevant terminology to ensure accurate management of the claim. Utilize verbal and numerical critical thinking skills to gather information and data; make sound decisions based upon the mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment.

  • Set challenging work goals and high standards for self; continually evaluate self against performance targets, striving to exceed expectations.

Candidate will need to have Workers Compensation experience and preferably in NY, CA, FL, GA and/or IL. The ability to work remote will be considered for the right candidate.

Senior Claim Representatives work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and are responsible for providing exceptional service to policyholders in response to a notice of loss.

Travel Requirements: As part of the multi-week new hire training program, you may be required to travel out of state for up to two (2) weeks. All travel expenses and arrangements are paid for by The Hartford.

Training Requirements: As a condition of employment, you will be required to successfully complete a multi-week New Hire Training Course and, upon completion, obtain a passing score on the final course assessment. Continued employment with The Hartford is contingent upon you successfully passing the exam(s) within 30 business days from the completion of the New Hire Training.

Licensing Requirements: As a condition of your employment, you must obtain and maintain a State Adjuster's License to process Property & Casualty Insurance Claims in the states supported by your office. Continued employment with The Hartford is contingent upon the successful passage of the Licensing exam(s) within 30 business days from the completion of the licensing training. The Hartford provides training and pays for the cost to obtain and maintain state licensing.
