Staff Legal Operations support Staff Law offices countrywide. Data management and customer support services are central to this work. The Ops Clerical Assistant will report to the Staff Legal Operations Team Leader and will be responsible primarily for Staff Legal Operations centralized data processes and other administrative tasks. The clerical assistant will be expected to
excel in customer service and communicate with the staff law offices, their managers and staff. They will be expected to handle a high volume of intake and process new litigated file openings. Additional responsibilities will include: creating and reviewing Excel reports, data entry and analysis, and assistance in other administrative clerical tasks.
Skills important for this role include:
Ability to work independently in a 100% paperless environment.
Capable of data entry across multiple software systems simultaneously.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and meet daily metric requirements
Ability to manipulate electronic documents such as TIF, PDF and JPG formats.
Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints.
Ability to work in a team-structured environment.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Strong computer and keyboard skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, use time management skills and independent judgment in a high volume fast paced environment.
Demonstrated efficiency, productivity, and attention to detail, strong organizational skills and accuracy.
Ability to work on strict and short deadlines; able to set priorities and deal effectively with shifting priorities.
Ability to work with confidential/sensitive information and use diplomacy in written/verbal communication with internal/external clients.
Highly proficient in technology, comfortable working with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Outlook, Word, and Excel including pivot tables.
Legal terminology understanding and knowledge is preferred.
Demonstrates professionalism and establishes credibility when interacting with customers; personally helps enhance The Hartford’s reputation.
Builds and maintains good relationships with co-workers and customers; seen as credible, trustworthy, flexible, and dependable. Treats others with respect.
