WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS POSITION?

The Enterprise Data Office (EDO) is looking for a Senior Scrum Master with Data experience to manage the execution of initiatives supporting Commercial Lines Actuarial Rating Assets.

EDO Data team is seeking highly motivated, results oriented individuals with strong technical and leadership skills. The responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and manage Commercial Lines Agile teams supporting new (invest) data initiatives and maintenance of Commercial Lines Actuarial Rating Applications

  • Create and execute on Transformation roadmap for Commercial Lines Actuarial Rating Assets

  • Manage large, complex and critical Commercial Lines Actuarial Rating assets including risk and controls, and SLA management

  • Educate and coach the team in Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), ensuring that the agreed Lean-Agile process is being followed and aligns with The Hartford’s Enterprise Business Delivery Model

  • Establish and maintain strong partnership with Commercial Lines Business and CIO areas.

  • Trusted partner for the business and proactively suggests value added and innovative solutions to address business challenges and goals

  • Role requires ability to influence and work effectively with key stakeholders and business sponsors in a timely manner

  • Look at ways to reduce cost of doing business and drive continuous improvement mindset

Qualifications:

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Senior Scrum Master

  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing delivery of Data or analytics initiatives

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience managing large-scale, business critical applications with SLA’s in an data warehouse environment

  • Experience of working and managing Agile team structures, SAFe and Scaled Agile framework

  • A lean-agile mindset and leads team efforts in relentless improvement

  • Superior organization skills with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experienced in Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, Continuous Testing, Story Point estimation, Automated Testing, Burn down Metrics, Velocity etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present confidently before a large audience

  • Effective presentation, organizational and planning skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills

  • Seasoned in project management methodologies and best practices

  • Must be a dynamic and self-starting individual who is able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal guidance and direction

  • Must be able to continuously learn new skills to keep abreast of industry trends and state of the art technology

  • Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills
