The Group Benefits Operations Business Systems area is responsible for setting up and working on new technology changes for our new Hartford Ability Advantage application used for administering our Group Benefit product lines such as STD, LTD, Premium Waiver and Leave of Absence. This team member will work with both internal and external business partners and across the IT organization to arrive at process and/or system(s) solutions that identify efficiencies or product improvements in order to meet our customer needs. In addition, they will assist with driving both tactical and strategic decisions and providing leadership/mentoring to other BA’s while supporting the business in evaluating priorities and options based on a large diverse portfolio of requests.
Our Business Systems team partners with areas such as Sales, Implementation, Claims, Technology, Accounting, etc.
Coordinates with Stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and technical components.
Possesses functional knowledge and skills reflective of a competent practitioner with the ability to deliver on work of high technical complexity.
Experience with Agile Methodology and practical experience with its application. May act as Agile Product Owner or Agile Scrum Master for product deliverables across assigned Agile team(s).
May lead and provide guidance to staff, management and project teams in the area of portfolio management, business analysis and/or through Agile Scum efforts.
Ability to structure and drive working and informational sessions that promote collaboration, achieve synergy and achieves desired outcomes.
Effective communications with project teammates and stakeholders using timely and accurate information through written and oral communication or formal presentations
Support of all levels of testing (assembly, system integration and business acceptance)
Work with project plans and timelines to meet the customer’s expectations.
Provides regular internal and external communication to build strong team representation and set proper customer expectations.
Conduct root cause analysis and effectively resolve any problems found during project or other assigned work as appropriate.
Provide day to day support to internal and external customers
Technical experience in Excel, Word (V-Look Ups, Pivot Tables, Formulas, etc) and multiple online systems required
Technical experience with Hartford Ability Advantage (formerly known as WorkAbility) desired
Familiar with or hands on experience with administering Group Benefits products: STD, LTD, Leave of Absence
Strong communication experience required
Associates Degree or 2-3 years of business experience desired
Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner experience highly desired
Strong attention to detail
Proven analytical ability
Strong leadership skills
Strong presentation skills
Strong conflict resolution skills
Knowledge of SQL query skills a plus
