The Hartford's Corporate Information Technology/Finance team is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Developer to support Robotic Process Automation (RPA) development projects and Production Support of existing Bots. This position requires an individual that has software development skills, particularly in the Process Automation space. The candidate will be responsible for technical system design and development activities. The candidate will have an opportunity to work in Business Process Management, Finance Function and web services applications within an Agile/Scrum team. Successful candidates should have experience in delivering quality technical solutions, willingness to understand existing processes and systems, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Work closely with stakeholders to design and document automation solutions that align with the business needs and also consistent with the architectural standards
Ability to illicit business requirements, develop technical specifications, build subsequent code and test code resulting in accomplishing the business requirements and in alignment with architecture patterns and quality standards
Able to break down development problems and estimate effort/time for development tasks
Facilitate continuity between Sourcing Partners, other IT Groups and Enterprise Architecture
Work across the organization to provide business process or design recommendations consistent with long term business and IT strategy
Proactively address technical issues and risks that could impact project schedule and/or budget
Identify opportunities to reduce application support total cost of ownership
Identifies opportunities for innovation and offers new ideas (‘thinks outside the box’)
Adapts to new environments and changing requirements
Lead change by influencing and educating Business and IT partners
Support and consult on disaster recovery and reverse demand planning and testing
Bachelor Degree preferred
Two or more years of .NET or Java programming experience
Experience with RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, QTP would be a plus - Willing to train highly motivated candidates with the passion in robotics
Solid understanding and experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to read Excel macros to translate them to RPA solutions and/or integrations a plus
Demonstrate advanced business and technical acumen for applications
Demonstrate skills in shaping and leading development of technical specifications
Strong problem solving and analysis skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High level of independence but can also work effectively in a self-organizing team
