Title: Product & Pricing Center of Excellence Senior Pricing Analyst, Personal LinesLocation: United States-Connecticut-HartfordJob Number: 1801295This position is based in Hartford, CT within the Product & Pricing Center of Excellence (COE) organization supporting a $3 B written premium Auto and Home line business portfolio. This position is responsible for delivering and improving the product, pricing and execution processes in collaboration with our state and countrywide product management teams.
This position reports into the Product & Pricing COE organization within Personal Lines product.
This position is an individual contributor role supporting pricing and product execution work for assigned regional/state and country-wide product goals.
Develop strong, collaborative partnerships with countrywide and state product management, technology, operations, data science, actuarial, compliance and legal.
Seeks opportunities to conduct work more efficiently, improve pricing tools and templates, and reduce operating cost as applicable.
Takes a leadership role in countrywide projects, class plan enhancements and maintenance of complex states.
Executes state based Pricing and Product delivery in accordance to plan and quality objectives
For assigned territories, work in partnership with state product management and country-wide actuarial to deliver pricing services aligned to state-based rate and non-rate actions:
Develop and communicate state indications, including updates of all relevant assumptions (trend, loss development, etc.)
Create and obtain approval for internal and external rate proposals
Manage rate work, including dislocation analysis and off-balancing
Provide disciplined and creative pricing analysis in support of actionable rate or product recommendations to product management
Lead implementation of countrywide initiatives as needed
Update rate/rule manuals and obtain filing approval with state DOIs
Deploy defect-free rating updates into IT production
Provide up-to-date documentation and ensure quality control procedures are completed
Product Pricing & Execution Governance, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement
Encourages detailed process and operating procedures to support efficient and effective pricing and execution.
Brings forward and leads continuous improvement opportunities with a focus on process excellence initiatives. Looks for opportunities to streamline work, increase output or reduce cost.
Works in partnership with Product Quality and Training leads to ensure that our service delivery supports quality objectives and staff is developing skills to support work requirements. Qualifications: Technical/Functional Skills:
Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Time management skills – Organizes and manages own time and workload efficiently and ability to balance multiple priorities to fulfill all commitments within established timeframes.
Detail oriented - Attention to the important information that helps make up the big picture.
Independently performs work and takes responsibility for assignments.
Excellent Analytical Skills

College education required (Bachelors or above), degree in Math or similar discipline preferred
Minimum 2 years of pricing experience
Knowledge of Personal Lines products or operations preferred
Experience working in an actuarial department preferred
Understanding of Home products (coverages, forms, underwriting and new and renewal processes) preferred
System Knowledge – Basic knowledge of the systems that are used within Product Management preferred
Business or Insurance industry experience
