WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS POSITIONS?

The Enterprise Monitoring team is seeking a motivated, results oriented individual with strong technical and leadership skills for the role of Enterprise Monitoring Manager. The individual will manage a team of 6 staff that support services across all lines of business to implement monitoring across the enterprise. This position reports to the Director of Service Management. Accountabilities include the managing the applications that support the event management environment, implementation of proactive monitoring, associated correspondence and tracking of metrics. Strong familiarity utilizing BMC’s proactive monitoring solutions to identify trends and process event management notifications to proactively avert critical incidents. Experience working with external vendors to resolve issues. The ideal candidate must have a passion for technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee technical deliverables for invest and maintenance projects adhering to the software development life cycle

  • Manage the fulfillment of governance and compliance and documentation as it applies to IT Risk & Controls, IT Service Continuity (ARC, AIRT, DRP requirements), Archer and audit requirements

  • Manage and lead direct reports to support Enterprise Monitoring

  • Drive identification and implementation of automated process improvements and procedural modifications

  • Supervise team members to enforce monitoring standards and best practices.

  • Must have an understanding of existing monitoring solutions; such as TSOM, PATROL, BMM, REUEM and Synthetic Monitoring. Knowledge of 3rd party solutions Dynatrace, Riverbed ARX, or SCOM a plus

  • Coach and develop staff, mentor newer resources as needed

  • Must have an understanding of an Incident Management ticketing system; ServiceNow required.

  • Managerial duties include project resource allocation and staff augmentation as needed

  • Measure and drive productivity, set deadlines, assigns responsibilities via Visual Task Boards

  • Ensures technical and business requirements for monitoring applications are in compliance with enterprise monitoring standards

  • Identifies and resolves gaps in skills, processes, and resources

  • Work with stakeholders and technical areas to identify nonfunctional requirements

  • Develop guidelines for capturing technical and business requirements

  • Lead proactive event management processes

  • Ensure currency of the supported applications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience in Computer Science or related disciple with a minimum of 8 – 10 years of work experience in IT systems analysis, management information systems and application program development

  • A thorough understanding of the monitoring framework; infrastructure, platforms, application code & data & business

  • Must have exceptional communication skills (written, oral, presentation and facilitation) and the ability to effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Must demonstrate desire to continuously learn new skills, understanding market trends and support strategic solutions

  • Must have a solid foundation regarding event management systems availability and performance monitoring tools.

  • Knowledge of BMM and SCOM a plus, familiarity with Business Objects, report creation, SQL knowledge a plus.

  • Hands on experience implementing third party products and managing end and operational support.

  • Must be able to translate business requirements to technical solution implementations

  • Hands on application development and production support a plus

  • Understanding of robotics and artificial intelligence to improve services

  • Solid technical skills working with vendor partners IBM, BMC etc.

  • Proven track record of setting goals and delivering results

  • Ability to market the technologies supported by the team

  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience leading a team.

  • Develop strategies to achieve business objectives

  • Superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • The ability to multitask is required.

  • Development experience a plus
