This position is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor to help design and build a new center of excellence to provide contract drafting and negotiation support for administrative services for Group Benefits' expanded and integrated business. This nimble team will provide critical support to the sales process, positioning GB for growth and enhanced persistency through positive, productive and competent first impressions with GB customers. When time permits, this individual will provide project management to support various GB Law projects designed to better integrate with and support the Group Benefits business. This position may be based in the Hartford CT office or the Plantation, Florida office and perform work assignments in partnership with and under the guidance of all attorneys on the team.

This work entails:

  • Drafting and negotiating complex administrative services agreements and documents, with minimal supervision

  • Managing a variety of special projects, including developing project plans, engaging performance of resources at all levels, ensuring execution, maintaining documentation and reporting on progress

  • Optimize GB Law performance by building, maintaining and enhancing legal templates, process, tools and metrics to improve efficiency of organization


  • Bachelor’s degree required and 6 years of contract or other relevant experience

  • Mature professional capable of balancing multiple competing demands and projects while performing well under pressure

  • Ability to draft and negotiate complex administrative service agreements with minimal supervision

  • Ability to make sound decisions to improve efficiency and optimize GB Law performance by leveraging metrics and process tools

  • Sound judgment and integrity

  • Proactive, customer service, operational and continuous improvement focus

  • Ability to conduct legal research a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated excellence in work product, planning and execution
