Become part of the Agile Center of Excellence team at The Hartford! We are seeking an enthusiastic Agile coach, experienced in coaching Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, who has the proven passion and ability to transform team behaviors from Waterfall toward an Agile way of working. The Agile Coach will engage with individuals and teams throughout the company to provide hands-on coaching in order to effectively increase Agile adoption across the Enterprise.

As the Agile coach you will join the Agile Center of Excellence team, where you will be responsible for ensuring the Agile framework practices and tools are enabled and understood in order to drive adoption and change from a transformational perspective at the team and program level. This includes influencing change across multiple levels of leadership and key stakeholders. The candidate should have a strong understanding and ability to articulate the business value of specific Agile Practices.

This role requires experience in the practical execution of Agile practices, exposure to the creation and/or implementation of the new methodologies for enterprise organizations and hands-on experience with technology delivery.

Provide Agile practice leadership, coaching and education to enable delivery of technology capabilities

Coach and educate Agile practice leadership to individuals and teams in all facets of Scrum and Kanban; this includes Scrum events, artifacts and continuous improvement practices

Coach Scrum Masters, Scrum Development Teams, Product Owners and other enabled scaled roles to ensure successful delivery of continuous business value

Create Scrum/Kanban teams to satisfy the Agile implementation plan within a portfolio

Deliver practical coaching while ensuring the organization’s strategy is in alignment

Enable teams to capture metrics to measure and help improve team effectiveness, including dashboard reporting through Agile Central

Help teams identify organizational impediments to the successful Agile Transformation and provide effective recommendations and strategies to overcome them

Provide industry standard knowledge to inform best practices as part of the Agile Center of Excellence


Scaled Agile and SPC4 certification a plus

Team oriented with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the company

Excellent facilitation, presentation and listening skills

High energy, possess a positive attitude

Role model who leads by example

Must have 3-5 years of Scrum Master and/or Agile Coaching experience

Flexible, have the ability to focus on outcomes of the role while understanding the needs of the business

Ability to effectively influence peers/managers throughout the organization

Strong understanding and usage of Agile tools such as Agile Central

Experience with Scaled Agile is highly preferred

Progressive experience in business roles where change management is a vital component, including people, process, and technology change

Capable of working independently or in a highly collaborative environment; working with and through others

Experience with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

Exposure to DevOps is a plus

Experience with ADKAR is a plus

This role will potentially be expected to travel, spending time in the field with resource communities in our remote offices. Travel could be between 10%.
