The Hartford’s Personal Lines IT team is seeking a highly motivated , experienced Senior Project Manager in our Windsor and Hartford, CT offices. The candidate will be expected to manage multiple Product investment initiatives. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate leadership skills, proficiency in project management, experience in managing diverse teams, technical acumen and experience in delivering quality solutions on time and to budget.

Candidate will be responsible for planning and managing one highly complex project or multiple moderately complex projects concurrently. Projects typically consist of a large number of deliverables, dependencies and resource needs. They will work closely with more senior project managers and key stakeholders to define project scope and ensure timely delivery of all project components. Candidate manages project team and vendors to deliver on defined business objectives.

Candidates must have proficiency in project management, financial management, risk management and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. They must be able to make decisions quickly in consultation with team members and subject matter experts and be able to build relationships, actively participate in team work, and understand the dynamics and critical nature of the business.

Candidate will possess functional knowledge and skills reflective of a competent practitioner with the ability to deliver on work with high degree of technical complexity.

  • Responsible for supervising, planning, and managing one or more highly complex projects consisting of a large number of deliverables, complex dependencies, and significant resource needs.

  • Works closely with key stakeholders, including senior level executive sponsors, controllers, partners, and vendors to define project scope and ensure timely delivery of all project components.

  • Manages multiple project teams often spanning multiple functional or organizations areas.

  • Must be able to drive and influence Business Customers and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, systems development, or equivalent field experience in systems implementation required

  • Strong Project Management skills and demonstrated experience managing to milestones and delivery dates is essential

  • 6 years experience implementing large-scale, business critical applications in an enterprise environment

  • Experience executing projects in an AGILE methodology preferred

  • Scrum Master certification highly desirable

  • PMI Certification preferred

  • Must demonstrate solid management skills related to program management tasks (requirement gathering, system architecture review, issue resolution, etc.)

  • Ability to create and lead a team in all activities related to developing and delivering solutions that align with the business requirements

  • Create open environment conducive to freely sharing information and ideas

  • Demonstrated ability in planning and deploying product implementations and enhancements through application of formal project controls

  • Demonstrated ability to direct project activities, ensuring customer satisfaction with service and project delivery

  • Hands-on and results-oriented approach

  • Able to resolve complex business application problems

  • Consulting practice organization and methodology

  • Excellent written and verbal communications

  • Effective conflict resolution skills

  • Effective presentation, organizational and planning skills

  • Insurance or Financial Services experience preferred
