Overviewof the Position

This

position will fill a need on the Personal Lines Business Intelligence (PL BI)

Team within the Product Design and Analytics department of the Personal Lines

organization. The individual will assist in the design and development of BI

and analytical tools that will enable the company to better manage and monitor

its products. The Sr. Consultant will be responsible for design and

implementation of end-to-end BI solutions. Develop best practices and standards

and mentor developers to ensure consistent development practices are followed. The

ideal candidate will have strategic perspective, the ability to convert large

amounts of raw data into usable reports and dashboards, and proven experience

working with management teams. There will be opportunities for projects both

internal and external to the PL BI organization, presentations of completed

work product, and the ability to make a difference in products that make it to

market.

Responsibilities:

·

Architect, design, implement end-to end BI solutions and the

required supporting architecture

·

Create functional and technical documentation related to

Business Intelligence solutions

·

Formulates and recommends standards for achieving maximum

performance and efficiency of the DW ecosystem.

·

Design & develop interactive dashboards with Tableau

using advanced visualization techniques.

·

Publish automated, interactive dashboards to end-consumers

using Tableau Server.

·

Evangelize self-service BI and visual discovery while helping

to change Excel based culture.

·

Champion data quality, integrity and reliability throughout

the department by designing and promoting best practices.

·

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with

various business organizations and Enterprise Data Office

·

Research and evaluate potential technology solutions to meet

business needs

·

processing function and data consumers.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders /

data consumers and represent the data function and embrace Data Quality

principles and client service.

Qualifications:

Experience& Skills

Technical/Functional

Skills:

·

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information

Systems, Finance, Statistics or other related field

·

7 years of hands on experience with various business

intelligence and analytics tools such as MSBI, Tableau, Qlik view, SAS, Business Objects

·

Experience with Project Management, Agile methodology is big

plus.

·

Good understanding of Data warehouse, Dimensional modeling, Data

virtualization and Data delivery methodologies

·

Industry BI&A experience at a reputable public consulting

firm a plus

·

Property & Casualty insurance industry experience a plus

·

Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills

·

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with an

ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms to effectively

interface with all levels of management.

·

Strong problem-solving ability and ability to quickly analyze

and understand source and target data structures.

·

Strong analytical and data manipulation skills, including

programming experience

·

Knowledge of economics and/or insurance markets

·

Ability to build effective relationships with business

partners

·

Strong quantitative skills required

·
