The Hartford School of Insurance (HSI) Marketing Consultant is responsible for the design, development and execution of HSI’s Marketing and Communications strategy to increase brand awareness in the marketplace to drive growth resulting in over $3 million in revenue year over year. The role will be responsible for execution of multiple marketing campaigns using varies delivery mechanisms to build brand recognition in the marketplace and to further differentiate the Hartford as a leading insurance carrier of choice. The role also encompasses creative writing and graphic design as well as support HSI’s communication strategy. The role will work closely with the HSI’s Marketing Assistant Director, the Hartford businesses and agency partners to ensure that we deliver a superior marketing and communication strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development and implementation of an integrated strategic marketing plan to advance HSI’s brand position and drive growth in business and over $3 million in revenue year over year
  • Lead the design development and execution of multiple marketing campaigns to broaden awareness of HSI’s programs and services, and increase the organization’s visibility to current and prospective customers
  • Utilize multi marketing mechanisms to deliver the HSI Brand including; print, collateral, website, audio, visual, podcasts and social media
  • Implement marketing plans, including product positioning, campaign strategies, and market strategy insights.
  • Develops and executes project plans for the multiple marketing deliverables and delivers high quality solutions in a timely manner
  • Leads and owns the development of HSI marketing collateral, content design and develop, website design and maintenance
  • Create, coordinate and execute marketing communications and collateral including prints, brochures, with particular emphasis on content development, design, writing, and editing
  • Gather and analyze marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, click through rates, website, traffic, surveys etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies
  • Research and understand evolving trends and best practices, optimize content effectively, and manage the advocacy and build-out of capabilities that improve the user’s experience
  • Ownership of HSI Social media strategy and manage department social media networks from both a gatekeeper and content development aspect
  • Create, design and post website content using a content management system (CMS) and HTML
  • Ensure communications are scheduled and delivered electronically and are available to distributors in a timely manner
  • Partners with the HSI team members, the Hartford businesses and Agency Partners to ensure that we deliver a superior marketing and communication strategy.
  • Vendor relationship management



Qualifications:
Technical/Functional Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop and deliver strategic market plans and project manage execution of various plan components
  • Excellent written, verbal presentation and design skills with the ability to convey multiple messages to multiple audiences using different delivery mechanisms
  • Ability to create and edit written content for professional presentation on websites, brochures and other sales and marketing materials
  • Strong design skills, creative writing and graphic design skills with the ability to assess varying message scenarios
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multi projects and initiatives
  • Understands the interaction between strategy, content and audience engagement and can craft ideas and thoughts into any medium
  • Strong consultative skills and relationship management skills
  • Displays original thinking and creativity; develops innovative approaches and ideas with outside the box thinking in regards to marketing plan and promotions
  • Ability to follow the latest trends and competitors in the market in order to formulate effective marketing strategies
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and partnerships
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and HTML
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and marketing automation software preferred

Educational/Work Experience

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years marketing experience
  • Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Portfolio writing samples and designs required
